Hari S. Saladin
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Hari S. Saladin, 54, passed away at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at his residence in Marion.
Hari was born July 15, 1955, in Chicago to Hari A. Saladin and Ann (Myers) Saladin.
Hari graduated in 1973 from Thornridge High School, Dalton, and attended Thornton Community College, South Holland, in 1974. Hari was employed as an over-the-road truck driver until his health failed. For relaxation Hari enjoyed cooking and doing yard work at his home.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hari A. Saladin.
Hari is survived by his closest friend and wife, Parasetta Henning Saladin, of Marion; two sons, Randy Dixon of Springfield and Hari (Tina) Dixon of Belleville; daughter, Lorie Dixon of Springfield; two stepchildren, Robert B. Henning Sr. of Chicago and Vivian Henning Bailey (James) of Alexandria, Va.; his mother, Ann, of Chicago; two sisters, Ayesha Bibbs and Adrienne (Mervin) Ferguson of Miami, Fla.; brother, Donald Johnson of Gary, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Those who knew him will always remember Hari's life, love, and he will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
Memorial services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 7 E. Gaskins St., Harrisburg, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, with the Rev. Mae Ella Williams officiating.
Jackson Funeral Home in Carbondale is in charge of arrangements.
