James Joseph McCure
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[James Joseph McCure, Jr., 67, formerly of Shawneetown, passed away at 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, in Mazatlan, Mexico.
"Big Jim" as he was called by all that knew him, was born in Joliet on Nov. 20, 1941, the son of the late Jim and Johanna McCure. He moved to Shawneetown in 1968, where he owned and operated The Mine restaurant until 1983. He then owned and operated Rudy's restaurant from 1989 until mid-1990s. When he retired, he moved to Mazatlan, Mexico, where he enjoyed fishing and learning Spanish.
He is survived by his four sons, Jim McCure III of Colleyville, Texas, Michael McCure of Southlake, Texas, Steve McCure of Grapevine, Texas, and Matt McCure of Charlotte, N.C.; his two granddaughters, Mina McCure and Sophia McCure of Colleyville Texas, and soon-to-be born grandson, Grant McCure of Southlake, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters, Kay Charvat of Mokena and Barbara Reiter of Muscoda, Wis.; and a brother, Bill McCure of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters-in-law, Krystal (Foster) McCure of Colleyville, Texas, Melissa (Farnham) McCure of Southlake, Texas and Ashlee (Medlin) McCure of Charlotte, N.C. and his former wife, Christine Curl of Elizabeth, Colo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Suzanne McCure and Joanne McCure.
At this time memorial services are pending in Mazatlan, Mexico.
