Aubrey Eudell 'Red' Giles
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Aubrey Eudell "Red" Giles, 87, died Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at the Solarbron Terrace in Evansville, Ind.
He was born May 19, 1922, in Eldorado to the late Aubrey and Jesse Giles. Red lived the majority of his life there.
He served in the Marine Corps during World War II, and was a member of the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department for over 12 years. He was a lifetime member of the Eldorado First United Methodist Church. He retired from Nunn Milling Co. in 1988.
On April 3, 1943, he married the former Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Cable), who preceded him in death on Sept. 23, 2006.
Red is survived by a son, Ron (Sharon) Giles of Evansville, Ind.; two grandsons, Justin (Lori) Giles of Franklin, Tenn. and James (Amy) Giles of Yorktown Heights, N.Y.; and four great-grandchildren, Noah, Ian, Maya and Evan Giles. He is also survived by a sister, Helen Gene Smith of Murray, Ky.; and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, James Robert Giles.
Funeral services for Red will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, at the Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Julie Allison officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association, First United Methodist Church or the Wesley Chapel Church and may be left at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Virgil Vogel, the staff at Solarbron Terrace, his caregivers and the Vista Care Hospice for all their loving care they gave him.
