Robert Gene Leithliter Sr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Robert Gene Leithliter, 67, of Eldorado, passed away at 3:54 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, at his residence while surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of Emma (Tyler) Leithliter, who survives.
Robert was born in Baton Rouge, Mich., on Sept. 15, 1941, the son of the late George Leithliter and Margaret (Gates) McDaniel and the stepson of the late Jay McDaniel.
He attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Eldorado.
He worked as a asphalt paver prior to retirement.
Robert is survived by two daughters, Debra (Larry) Sandy of Lockport and Tina (Terry) Rush of Eldorado; and a son, Robert Gene (Jennifer) Leithliter Jr. of North Riverside.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jacob Sandy of Lockport, Amie (Mark Morgan) Rush of Lockport, Jaclyn (Elliot Fetman) Rush of Deerfield and Sarah (D.J.) Houdek of Lockport; and two great-grandchildren, Tony and Emma Morgan; two sisters, Cheryl Powell of Eldorado and Patty Gibbs of Harrisburg; two brothers, LeRoy (Helen) McDaniel of Texas and Rick (Wendy) McDaniel of Eldorado; and a brother-in-law, Sam Tyler of Lockport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vicky Tyler.
As per his request his body was cremated and a memorial service will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009, with the Rev. Jim Allison officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
