Harlan Jackson Henderson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harlan Jackson Henderson, 85, Sterling Heights, Mich., died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at his home.

Harlan was born Aug. 20, 1923, in West Frankfort, the son of the late Delmar Henderson and the late Alice (Jackson) Henderson. Mr. Henderson served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked and retired from General Motors.

Harlan Henderson is survived by his wife, Babe Jessica Henderson. He is the father of Karen Beth (Robert) Pickering, Jim (Paulette), Benny, Kenny, John Ralph "J.R.," and Rena Henderson; brother of Bonnie Baldwin and Vera Scott. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Visitation for Mr. Henderson will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2009, until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at the D.S. Temrowski and Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 mile), Warren, Mich. Interment will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich.
