Shirley May Moore Berkel

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Shirley May Moore Berkel, 66, of 1423 S. Washington St., Harrisburg, passed away at her home at 5 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009.

She was born in Equality on Jan. 19, 1943, the daughter of William Cletus and Della May (Haney) Bean.

Shirley was a retired correctional officer from Hardin County Work Camp.

She married Bob Moore on Sept. 8, 1961, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1993. Shirley later married David Berkel on May 20, 1997, and he also preceded her in death on June 11, 2007.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Darren Moore of Marion and Derek and Sarah Moore of Tolono; her brother, Bill and Barbara Bean of Equality; four grandchildren, Micaela Benton of Marion and Dylan Moore, Gavin Moore and Deakin Moore, all of Tolono.

She was preceded in death by parents, husbands, and one brother, Harold Bean.
