Virgie M. Smith

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Virgie M. Smith, 69, 2306 Saline Ave., Eldorado, died 8:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Calvary Baptist Church in Eldorado. Visitation is after 10 a.m. Wednesday, and cremation will follow. Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.

She was born on June 17, 1940, in Eldorado to the late Emanuel Smith and Pauline (Palmer) Hall.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the American Council for the Blind.

She is survived by her companion, Patrick Morse of Eldorado; sister, Shirley Braddy of St. Louis, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, James Edward Hargrove of Wayne City, Sandra (Braddy) McKittrick of St. Louis, Mo., Tonya Matlock of Marshall, Alaska and Susan Gray of Florida; three stepbrothers, Raymond Hall of St. Louis, Mo., James Hall of Springfield, Mo. and Donald Hall of Pataskala, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Elmer Hall; a brother, Robert Reeder; and a sister, Sandra Hargrove.
