Elizabeth 'Betty' Hetherington

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elizabeth "Betty" Hetherington, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away at 9:03 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Betty was born on June 27, 1924, in Louisville, Ky., to the late Arthur and Agnes (Lambert) Meyer. She married John Hetherington on April 3, 1953, in Harrisburg.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Harrisburg.

Betty is survived by two daughters, Melody Bennet and husband John of Junction and Cheryl Schroeder and husband David of Sussex, Wis.; three grandsons, Justin Matthew Schroeder and wife Jennifer, Joseph Karl Schroeder and David John "D.J." Schroeder, all of Sussex, Wis.; one stepgrandson, Trevor Schroeder of Sussex, Wis.; one great-grandson Brayden Robert Schroeder of Sussex, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one brother, Arthur Meyer; and two sisters, Doris Schramm and Micki Volkert.

She was a loving wife and mother, as well as a talented artist, and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and care-givers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Dewayne Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel.
