</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Harry E. Modglin, 80, died 12:05 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2009, at Ferrell Hospital, Eldorado.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Bill Jones and Fr. Ignatius Okonkwo officiating. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery with graveside military rites. Vistitation is 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Granite City to R.S. and Marie (Jolly) Modglin. On Jan. 15, 1951, he married Katherine Hollo, who survives in Eldorado.
He served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked in construction for the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of the Eldorado American Legion Post No. 169, where he was past commander, and a life member of Eldorado VFW Post No. 3479.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Dennis) Rider of Harrisburg; a sister, Evelyn Babbitt of Burleson, Texas; two grandchildren, Justin Ego of Raskin, Fla., and Alex (Leslie) Ego of Eldorado; and a great-grandchild, Kaitlin Elizabeth Ego.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Modglin; and three nephews.
