Fern R. Tarrence

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fern R. Tarrence, 76, of Old Shawneetown, died on Sunday, June 7, 2009, surrounded by her family.

Fern was born in Ridgway on March 16, 1933, to the late Allen A. Randall and Mary (Fields) Randall.

She had worked in housekeeping at the Fountainview Nursing Home in Eldorado until retiring. She was a Pentecostal by faith. Fern will be remembered as having a kind heart and loving her family.

Fern is survived by a son, Bill Tarrence of Shawneetown; daughter, Linda Hart of Shawneetown; brother, Joe Randall of Shawneetown; sister, Viola (Hilward) Willoby of Shawneetown; grandchildren, Lisa (Francis) Morgan, Betty (Dennis) Smith, DeWayne Sharp, DeLana Yates, Stuart Marshall, Tanya Hogan, Spencer Tarrence, Austin Marshall and Rachel Tarrence; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Yates Bolton and Mary Curry; three sisters, Mae Golden, Lucille McCleary and Clara Ina Randall; two brothers, Walter and Allen Randall; grandson, Jerry Wayne Marshall; stepgranddaughter, Casey Morgan; and three sons-in-law, Joe Yates, Bob Hart and Roy Bolton.

Visitation for Fern will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown and the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown with the Rev. Bob Powell officiating and interment at the Callicott Cemetery near Ridgway.
