Dorothy J. Edwards Poole

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Dorothy J. Edwards Poole, 76, of 4875 Crunk Road, Omaha, passed away at her residence at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009.

She was born on Feb. 7, 1933 in Omaha to Herdis C. and Ethel M. (Sarver) Edwards.

Dorothy received a bachelor's degree in education from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and later her master's from University of Evansville in Evansville, Ind. She was a retired school teacher and had taught for 40 years at Omaha and Norris City schools and was a member of the Omaha General Baptist Church.

She is survived by one brother, Ray and Sue Edwards of Omaha; three nieces, Lesa and Wade Newton, Dana and Bill Wargel, Billie and Steve Febuary, all of Ridgway; and one nephew, Bruce and Karen Edwards of Omaha.

Dorothy was preceded in death by parents; and her brother, William L. Edwards.

Visitation for Dorothy will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, all at the Omaha General Baptist Church in Omaha with the Rev. Blaine Felty officiating with burial at Palestine Two Cemetery near Omaha. Vickery Funeral Chapel in Omaha in charge of the arrangements.
