Mike Dunn

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mike Dunn, 60, of Carrier Mills, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday May 10, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mike was born on Aug. 8, 1948, in Harrisburg to Wilbert Dunn and Marguerite Farthing Reeves; both survive him. He is married to the former Liza Colson.

Mike was a United States Navy veteran who served in the Vietnam War and he worked at the Willow Lake Coal Mine until his health forced him to retire He also was a member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge No. 458 A.F. and A.M. in Carrie Mills and was also a member of the Marion Oshel American Legion Post No. 364 in Carrier Mills.

Mike is survived by his wife Liza; his mother, Marguerite (Dan) Reeves of Carrier Mills; his father, Wilbert Dunn of Carrier Mills; four sons, Mike (Wendy) Dunn of Carrier Mills, Tony Dunn of West Frankfort, Travis (Christina Horton) Dunn of Stonefort and Phillip (Kristy) Dunn of Carrier Mills; three grandchildren, Michael Jessica, and Avery and was looking forward to the birth of his fourth grandchild; one brother, Jim Dunn of Harrisburg; three sisters, Nancy Davis of Carrier Mills, Molly DiGiovanni of Marion and Cathy Felty of Stonefort.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cloyd and Syble Dunn and Claude and Clara Farthing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery with military honors by the Carrier Mills and Harrisburg American legions and the military reserve unit from Marion. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at the Absher-Nicholson Funeral Home in Carrier Mills where Masonic rites will be held at 7 p.m.
