Shelby Jean (Williams) King

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Shelby Jean (Williams) King passed peacefully Monday, May 4, 2009, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by the love of her children, brother, and several grandchildren as she made her transition into eternity.

Shelby was born in Carrier Mills to Shirley and Veretha Linda (Taborn) Williams, who preceded her in death, as well as her cherished son, Johnny Lee Williams.

Shelby was united in marriage to George Davis King for 25 years. She was the loving mother of sons, David, Kevin, Anthony, Gregory, Steven; daughter, Irita Dianne King; as well as her two stepchildren, Shelley Brooks and George King Jr., all of whom survive her in death.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Shirley Ann Coleman, Donna Duncan, Lewis Williams, Brenda Portee, Marilynn Newsom, Ownly Williams, Aundreya Drue and Deborah Fitzpatrick. Shelby was the proud grandmother of Charles David (Davenport), Cassandra, Charles, Tre', Erin, Brittany, Stephanie, Derek, Jessica, Amy, Vanessa (Harrison) Natalie, Parissa, Danyel, Patrice (Downs) King and adoring great-grandmother of Ishmail (Ahmed), Ayannah, Malcolm and Jada King all of who survive her in death. She is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to celebrate her lifelong journey.

Shelby Jean Williams will be dearly missed and always affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Shelby.

Services will be held on Monday May 11, 2009, at Harvest Deliverance Center, 38 S. Vine St., Harrisburg. The Rev. Ownly Williams will officiate. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral service at 11 a.m. A memorial reception will follow.
