Bob R. McRoberts

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Bob R. McRoberts, 83, Harrisburg, passed away at 7:24 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1925, in Gibson County, Ind., to the late Roscoe and Mary (Guthrie) McRoberts. On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Marilyn Joyce Hines, and she survives.

Bob was the owner of Scott's Cleaners. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisburg. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. He was also a member of the West Frankfort Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner out of Tampa, Fla.

Surviving family members include his wife, Marilyn Joyce McRoberts of Harrisburg; sister-in-law, Deanna Vest of Tampa, Fla.; nieces, Patti Davidson and husband Ernie of Evansville, Ind., Debbie Cartwright of Paducah, Ky., Donna Borders and husband Greg of Harrisburg, Doris Hall and husband Tim of Harrisburg, Marti Vest of Tampa, Fla., and Shannon Malott and husband Chris of Tampa, Fla. Several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Chris Winkleman will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.
