Wm. Dale Swann
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wm. Dale Swann, 61, died 4:03 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his residence.
Born Jan. 21, 1948, in Harrisburg, the son of Alfred and Anna Lee (Carpenter) Swann, he attended elementary school in Harrisburg and graduated from East Alton-Wood River High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in theater from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
Moving to California, he joined the Screen Actors Guild as an actor and appeared in several motion pictures, including, "Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight," "Drop Zone," "Proud Men," "Tango and Cash," "Gremlins 2: The New Batch," as well as the mini series "13 Days to Glory -- The Alamo" and on TV series that included "Quantum Leap," "Baywatch," "Beverly Hills 90210," "Melrose Place," "L.A. Law" and "Hunter."
Swann, a quiet, caring man, will be sadly missed by his sister, Betty J. Swann of Alton; his nieces and nephews, Debby (Eric) Hoehn, Bobby (Mary) Spurlock, Kevin (Joni) Spurlock, Robin Michelle Spurlock, Jennifer (Chris) White and Sarah Swann; several great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great-nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Norma Ohler and Ron Milazzo.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Dan Swann; and a sister, Lois Hayes.
To respect his wishes, no services have been scheduled.
A memorial service to honor his life will be announced at a later date.
Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
