Esco W. Joiner

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Esco W. Joiner, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away at 2 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

Esco was born on Thursday, March 22, 1928, to the late Hillis and Pearl (Williams) Joiner. He married Juanita Williams on Feb. 12, 1988, and she preceded him in death on April 24, 2006.

Esco was a retired coal miner and a Korean War Army veteran.

Esco is survived by nephews, Dennis Clark and wife Gayla of Harrisburg, Bruce Joiner of Dallas, Texas and Brent Joiner of Houston; nieces, Kim Turner of New Jersey and Dana Berels of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Wilma Joiner of Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate and burial will follow in Old Home Church Cemetery at Golconda. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
