The Rev. James L. Henshaw Sr.
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[The Rev. James L. Henshaw Sr., 67, of Paducah, Ky., went home to be with his heavenly father at 2:10 p.m. on April 2, 2009, at the Lourdes Hospital with family and friends gathered around his bedside.
Jim was born on Oct. 23, 1941, in Chicago.
He was formerly from Harrisburg and has resided in Paducah, Ky., for the last 20 years, close to his daughter Jackie and husband Charlie and their two youngest children, Brandon and Logan, who helped Jim daily. Jim was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Henshaw; his father, the Rev. John Marion Henshaw, whom he loved and missed dearly; and several aunts and uncles.
Surviving is his mother, Lucille Hausser of Poplar Bluff, Mo., who came to Kentucky to care for her son until his death; four children Pat (Debbie) Shafer of Covington, Ky., James Henshaw Jr. of Carterville, Jackie (Charlie) Dukes of Paducah, Ky., and Bobbie Willis of Eldorado; several grandchildren, Robert McGuire, Kisha Branch, Cassie DeBose, Justin Branch, Carey Willis, Christie DeBose, Brandon Dukes, Logan Dukes, Makayla Shafer, Trevor Henshaw and Racheal Henshaw; several great-grandchildren; and special friends, Robert and Ruth Hale of Eldorado.
Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
At his request there will be no funeral. A memorial graveside will be held at a later date.
The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
Keeling Family Funeral Home in Paducah, Ky., is in charge of local arrangements.
