Rebecca S. Pryor
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Rebecca S. Pryor, 68, of Ewing, went to be with the Lord at 5:21 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home in Ewing.
She was born Jan. 22, 1941, in Shawneetown to Elmo Edwards and Pauline Curry. Rebecca fell in love with Gordan Pryor and they married on July 30, 1961, in Equality. They shared a very loving and close marriage of nearly 48 years.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon with Pastor Wayland Middendorf officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Reids Cemetery in Shawneetown.
Rebecca leaves behind a large and loving family to care for and console each other: her husband, Gordan Pryor of Ewing; three daughters, Cyndi Kirk and husband Charles of Sesser, Patricia Marona and husband Keith of Pinson, Ala., and Leslie Elliston and partner Moraima Castaneda of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Phillip Pryor and his wife, Carla of Ina; 13 grandchildren, Michelle Donley, Scott Kirk, Michael Barsos, Tami Donley, Jared Gosney, Chris Marona, David Kirk, Timmy Donley, Ryan Kelley, Heather Marona, Terry Pryor, Mitchell Kirk and Zack Marona; and five great-grandchildren, Madison Houser, Joseph Houser, Wesley Houser, Tegan Donley and Draven Gosney; and a brother, Dennis Edwards and family of Kell.
The oldest of four, Rebecca grew up helping care for her three brothers. Her parents and brothers, Bill and Jim, preceded her in death. She dearly missed and spoke of them often.
Rebecca enjoyed quilting, she was a past member of the Eastern Star and 34-year member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
