Doyle Gene Rister

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Doyle Gene Rister, 80, of 6905 Crunk Road, Omaha, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Select Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1928, in Omaha to Herman Doyle and Mabel (Carney) Rister. Gene married Clyda Gertrude Speer on Nov. 19, 1948, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 1998.

He was a member and served as deacon at Omaha Baptist Church in Omaha and was a lifelong farmer.

Gene is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Brenda Rister of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by both his parents and wife.

Visitation for Gene will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Ridgway. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, with the Rev. Blaine Felty officiating. Burial will be at Old Cottonwood Cemetery near Omaha.
