Larry D. 'Corn' Wesley
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Larry D. "Corn" Wesley, 61, of 10502 N. Mulberry Road, Leaf River, died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at OSF St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford.
He was born March 22, 1947, in Raleigh to the late John H. and Ethel (Miner) Wesley. On Aug. 5, 1977, he married Rosalie Burke in Hartland, and she survives.
He was a vocational agriculture teacher at Leaf River High School for 10 years and then at Stillman Valley High School for 24 years. After his retirement, he worked intermittently as the federal meat inspector at Spectrum Meats, Mt. Morris.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree in agriculture education and later received his master of science degree in agronomy from the University of Illinois.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Danielle Molly Wesley of Yarmouth, Maine, and her fiancee, Tom Lawlor; two brothers, Jerry (Ruth Ann) Wesley of Witt and David (Jan) Wesley of Cave City, Ark.; a sister, Janet (Richard) Quisenberry of Raleigh; a sister-in-law, Nahon Angio; seven nieces; and two nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Glendal and Fred Wesley.
There will be no services. Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2009, at Finch Funeral Home in Mt. Morris.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Larry's name as follows: Stillman Valley High School, the Larry D. Wesley Future Farmers of America Scholarship Fund.
