Mary A. Steinsultz

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mary A. Steinsultz, 96, a Newberry, Mich. area resident, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Helen Newberry Joy Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born on May 2, 1912, in Eldorado, she was a daughter of the late Tom L. and Minnie (Moore) Barton.

Mary attended Eldorado High School. She married her husband, Wayne Butler Steinsultz and together they moved to the Detroit area in 1937. She was a very active member of the First Baptist Church in Detroit, working for many of the functions in her church until her move to Toledo, Ohio, in 1995. She resided in Toledo until 2006, when she moved to the Newberry area.

Among her many activities, she enjoyed her church work, being a Girl Scout leader for many years in Huntington Woods, sewing, crocheting and caning chairs.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne in 1987; her daughter, Carolyn Duncan in 2005; and three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald (Joan) Steinsultz of Newberry, Mich.; grandchildren, Mary Steinsultz of McBain, Mich., Wayne Steinsultz of Munising, Mich., Chris Duncan of Dacula, Ga. and Kelly Bell of Toledo, Ohio. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2009, at Wolf Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Plunkett officiating. Those attending should go directly to the cemetery. Watson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
