Eva Myrle Markham
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Eva Myrle Markham, 93, of Eldorado, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2009, at Fountainview Nursing Home.
She was the widow of Joe Smith.
Eva was born in Omaha on Feb. 28, 1916, the daughter of the late Noah and Lily (Oliver) Horton.
She was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
She worked in housekeeping at Pearce Hospital before retirement.
Eva is survived by two daughters, Connie, wife of David McSparin of Eldorado and Karen, wife of John Patterson of Maplewood, Mo.
Eva is also survived by two sisters, Ruby Cambell of Wood River and Naomi Tite of Wood River; a brother, Junior Horton of Eldorado; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerold Smith; two daughters, Myrle Shank and Daisy Mae Shirley; a brother, T. Horton; and a sister, Geneva Brown.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Randy Grace officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality.
Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the College Heights Baptist Church and left at the funeral home.
