Betty Jean Carson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Betty Jean Carson, 77, of 1121 Cedar St., Harrisburg, died 10:50 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Eldorado.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Dr. John Rogers officiating and the Rev. Chris Winkleman assisting, Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the funeral home.

She was born June 8, 1931, in Indianapolis, Ind., to the late Luther Norris and Iola Mae Murphy.

She was Baptist by faith and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to bake and sew. She was a retired sales clerk and worked at Fashion Bug for 20 years.

She is survived by a son, Richard "Rick" (Mary) Humphries of Harrisburg; a brother, Luther (Doris) Norris Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind.; three sisters, Marjorie (David) Edmister of Eldorado, Dorothy (Bill) Guthrie of Eldorado and Rose (Earl) Rosenburg of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Dave Norris of Moorcroft, Wyo. and Tim Norris of Eldorado; her stepmother, Rosa May Norris of Eldorado; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and by many special friends and loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Marvin and Lowell Norris.
