Margaret Tate
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Margaret Tate, 90, of Galatia, passed away at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Galatia.
Margaret was born Feb. 10, 1919 to Blaine and Ella (McFarland) Shelton in Franklin County. Margaret married Silas Tate in January 1942 in Saline County and he preceded her in death in 1981.
Margaret was a licensed practical nurse and worked at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fountainview Nursing Home and Little Egypt Manor.
Margaret is survived by one daughter, Betty (Jerry Bill) Davis of Galatia; one grandchild, Angela McAlister of Evansville Ind.; and one stepgrandchild, Andrea Boyett of Fort Smith, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Troy and Hannah McAlister; and one great-stepgrandchild, Brittany Boyett . She is also survived by two brothers, Tommy Shelton of Galatia and Charles B. Shelton of Swansea.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Phillip Tate in 2006; and three brothers, Edward, Vernon and Mack Shelton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Funeral will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will be at Tate's Chapel Church. Sloan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
