Robbie Hankins
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robbie Hankins, 100, of Galatia, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado.
Robbie was born to Robert and Mary (Mitchell) Hankins on July 12, 1908, in Saline County. He married Helen Travelstead Hankins on Sept. 27, 1930, in Saline County and she preceded him in death on April 21, 2002.
Robbie was a coal miner, farmer, road commissioner and tax assessor.
Robbie is survived by his two sons, Chuck (Phyllis) Hankins of Raleigh and Kenneth (Carla) Hankins of Galatia. He had eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; his brothers, Arvel, Oval and Olen Hankins and one infant brother; and sisters, Ola Mallady and Oma Clark. He was also preceded by one grandchild.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Gaylon Parks officiating.
Burial will be at North America Cemetery.
