Mary Lavern Oliver

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Mary Lavern Oliver, 85, resident of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Galatia, passed away at 8:28 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.

She was the widow of Kenneth Oliver; they were married July 17, 1949.

Lavern was born in Ledford on Oct. 19, 1923, the daughter of the late Earl and Pearl (Hinkle) Waltz.

She was a homemaker and a member of Wasson Baptist Church.

Lavern is survived by a daughter, Linda (Joe) Herbert of Harrisburg.

She is also survived by one granddaughter, Tammy Herbert of Evansville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Waltz.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, with the Rev. Leroy Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.
