</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[David H. Simmons, 95, of Mount Vernon, died 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mount Vernon.

Services were held 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Rob Dyer officiating. The graveside service that was scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Drake Cemetery near Creal Springs has been postponed until further notice due to present, weather-related conditions at the cemetery.

Arrangements are in the charge of Hughey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
