</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Robert E. Hale, 90, of rural Route 5, McLeansboro, died 4:35 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at White Oaks Nursing Home, Mount Vernon.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton with graveside miligtary rites by the American Legion Post No. 106. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Monday at the funeral home.

He was the widower of Lula Johnson. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and caregivers.
