Curtis O. Bryant
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Curtis O. Bryant, 65, of Harrisburg, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at the residence of his daughter in Carrier Mills.
He was born in Simpson, Johnson County, on Aug. 18, 1943, to the late Ruby Bullock and Andrew Bryant. He married Carolyn Douglas on Sept. 15, 1963, in Cobden. Four children were born to this marriage, Nancy, Carrie, Christian and Curtis Aaron.
They divorced in 1991. He spent the rest of his life with Utha Angelly being his fiancee and she survives.
He was a minister and longtime member of Mizpah General Baptist Church of Harrisburg. He was Masonry, and worked for the union doing a lot of work around the area.
Surviving children are Nancy Harris and husband Keith of Carrier Mills, Carrie Headrick, Christian Bryd and husband Kerry and C. A. Bryant, all of Harrisburg; grandchildren are Stephanie Labotte and husband John of Harrisburg, Edward and wife Amy of Johnston City, Joey Harris and wife Teresa of Harrisburg, Con Cox and husband Junior of Carrier Mills, Mary Again, Amanda Headrick, Jacob, Storm, Calan Bryd, Bethany and Aaron Bryant, all of Harrisburg; great-granddaughter Sierra Harris of Harrisburg and great-grandson, Keith Cannon of Johnston City. Other survivors include his fiancee's grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which he claimed as part of his family.
This was a man that had enough love to go around to claim and have a large extended family.
He is also survived by a brother, A. J. Bryant; and a sister, Bernice Newcomb and husband Willard of Harrisburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Steve Glen will officiate. Burial will follow in Kerley Cemetery in Johnson County. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Reed Funeral Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Curtis Bryant family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
