</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Edith Lorraine Cook, 92, of Peotone, died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing and Rehab Center, Kankakee.
Services will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Fedde-Helfrich-Cross Funeral Home in Peotone with Pastor Jack Newberry officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Lindale Memorial Gardens, Eldorado. Visitation is 5 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 21, 1916, in Creal Springs to the late Henry and Nora (Martin) Smith. She married Ruel Cook, who preceded her in death in 1960.
She was a retired mental health technician at Manteno State Hospital and attended Manteno Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing crafts and was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived by a daughter, Nora (Larry) Grisham of Manteno; two grandchildren, Timothy (Amy) Grisham and Lori (David) Easter, both of Manteno; three great-grandchildren, Hayley Easter and Emily and Kira Grisham.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters; and a granddaughter, Jodi Grisham.
