Burney C. Zarecor

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Burney C. Zarecor, 96, of 2121 Saline Ave., Eldorado, died 6:35 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, at Ferrell Hospital.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Humboldt Presbyterian Church in Humboldt, Tenn., with the Rev. Walter Baker and the Rev. Paul Means officiating. Burial will be in Yorkville Cemetery in Tennessee. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado and 11 a.m. to service time Monday at Humboldt Presbyterian Church.

He was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Yorkville, Tenn., to Bliss and Ina (Cawthon) Zarecor. On Aug. 2, 1936, he married Nell Pemberton, who preceded him in death in 1991.

He was parts manager for a Chevy dealership in Humboldt, Tenn. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Humboldt. He graduated from Yorkville High School in Yorkville, Tenn., and joined the Civil Conservation Corps stationed at Frozen Head in east Tennessee where he met his wife.

He is survived by three daughters, Martha Vernon of Cumming, Ga., Linda Drone of Eldorado and Carole Williams of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Eric Drone of Norris City, Brent Drone of Oakland, Calif., Chris Vernon of Franklin, Tenn., and Pat Vernon of Orlando, Fla.; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Humboldt, Tenn. or Eldorado.
