William Maloy Cowper
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[William Maloy Cowper, 96, of 389 Trammel Road, Carrier Mills, died 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, in the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Ownly Williams and the Rev. Donnie Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
He was born in March 4, 1912, in Smithland, Ky., to the late Galbert and Iva (Miles) Cowper. He married Evangelene Foreman and she preceded him in death in 1970.
He was a retired coal miner, farmer and sanitation engineer.
He is survived by five daughters, Margaret Covington, Wanda Louise Chapman and Sonya Marie Cowper, all of Alton; Mary Maggaline Day and Lisa Kuro, both of Carrier Mills; three sons, Robert Cowper, Clifford Cowper and William Cowper Jr., all of Carrier Mills; two brothers, Charles Cowper and Fred Cowper, both of Paducah, Ky.; a sister, Dorothy Baker of Nashville, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and two grandsons.
