</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Jerome A. Karcher, 82, rural Route 2, Dahlgren, died 9:55 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, at Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Piopolis with Msgr. Joseph Lawler officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Gholson Funeral Home of McLeansboro is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by three sisters, two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
