Frances Carlson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Frances Carlson, 63, of Harrisburg, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at home in Harrisburg.

Frances was born Oct. 23, 1945, at Brownfield to the late Henry and Emma (Capps) Buttrum. She married Jon Carlson on April 13, 1965; he survives.

In addition to her husband Jon, she is also survived by her son, Jon and wife Judith Carlson of Brookport; daughter, Teresa and husband Bryan Thomas of Metropolis; one brother, Bill Buttrum of Simpson; two sisters, Pauline and husband Billy Powell of Rock community; Carolyn Tolley of Eddyville; 11 grandchildren, Cody, Cory, Daniel, Jonathan, Lacy, Hailey, Kaitlyn, Caitlyn, Kali, Kailey, Jacob; two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Haileigh; and several nieces and nephews.

She worked at Southgate Nursing Center in Metropolis and at Saline County Health Care. Frances enjoyed making quilts.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at Aly Funeral Home, Eddyville. Interment will be in the New Liberty Cemetery in Eddyville. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
