Donald G. Newcombe

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Donald G. Newcombe Sr., 75, of Shawneetown passed away at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in the St. Mary's Medical Center, Evansville, Ind. Mr. Newcombe was involved in a fire accident at his home on Sunday afternoon working on his plumbing.

Donald was born on June 30, 1933, in East St. Louis to the late Bordie "Doc" Newcombe and Rachel (Price). He was a truck driver for many years and worked as a mechanic also. Don served his country in the Army. He loved to work on CB radios. He was a good person and was loved very much. He will be greatly missed by the community.

He is survived by two sons, Donnie Newcombe of White Water, Kan. and Rodney Newcombe of Peru, Ind.; five daughters, Rhonda (Darryl) Disney of Junction, Tammy Gobin of Raleigh, Carla Wheeler of Uniontown, Ky., Kellie Rodriguez of Shawneetown and Sheryl Milligan of Shawneetown; two brothers, Bobby (Shirley) Newcombe of Marine and Tommy Joe Newcombe of Antioch, Tenn.; three sisters, Carline (Harold) Digby of Merriville, Pat Wilson of Mascoutah and Betty Newcombe of Pontoon; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents; daughter, Tina; two brothers, Bill and James Earl; and a sister, Shirley Hayes.

At Donald's request, cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at the Leamington Community Church with the Rev. Buddy Hubbard officiating.

Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown is entrusted with the arrangements.
