</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Ruby J. Martin, 73, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1935, in St. Louis, Mo

Ruby was a member of St. James United Methodist Church West.

She loved crocheting and working with her flowers. Ruby was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, William Martin, in 2000; and a great-granddaughter, Ella Alene Short.

She is survived by her son, Bill Martin; daughter, Melinda Swendson; son, Don Martin; grandchildren, Manda Short and husband, Jason, Melani Hensley and husband, Anthony, and Shannon Logan and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Max and Sammy Logan, Ethan and Emma Hensley and Eden Short; brothers, Dwaine Goss and wife, Diane, Welborn Goss and wife, Bonnie, and Paul Goss and wife, Helen; sister, Melissa Banks and husband, Dale; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Alexander West Chapel in Evansville, officiated by the Rev. Gene Backes with burial at Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
