Maynelle Oliver Whitlock

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Maynelle Oliver Whitlock, 90, of Harrisburg, died 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family in Harrisburg.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with Chris Winkleman officiating. Burial will be in Big Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Big Ridge to Charles R. and Grace Rachel (Mugge) Oliver. On Aug. 17, 1940, she married William E. Whitlock, who preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2002.

She was a retired homemaker and a member of Alton First Southern Baptist Church. She graduated from Harrisburg Township High School.

She is survived by a son, Charles (Elizabeth) Whitlock of Cottage Hills; three daughters, Margaret Trammel of Harrisburg, Elizabeth (Terry) Van Meter of Carrier Mills and Barbara (Bert) Trammel of Harrisburg; 10 grandchildren, Stacey (Lance) Darr, Chris (Susan) Whitlock, Danielle Trammel, Aaron (Jean) Trammel, Sarah Trammel, Joe Van Meter, Tara (Donnie) Prather, Jessica Van Meter, Michael (Elizabeth) Trammel and Angie (Billy) Henson; 22 great-grandchildren, Ian Darr, Charlie Darr, Charles A. Whitlock, Olivia Whitlock, Caitlyn Trammel, Zachary Trammel, Devan Trammel, Jacob Trammel, Leah Trammel, Alexis Hathaway, Lane Trammel, Kellcey Van Meter, Caden Van Meter, Dillan Harrison, Addi Prather, Shelby Trammel, Gunnar Trammel, Peyton Trammel, Abby Trammel, Hannah Trammel, Ben Spurlin and Abel Henson; a great-great-grandson, Jayden Trammel; one sister, Louise Morrow of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Kenneth Oliver of North Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, LaDema Oliver of Brazil, Ind., and Doris Oliver of Harrisburg; several nieces, nephews and friends; and close friends, Jerry and Katherine Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Charles "Buster" and George Oliver; and a son-in-law, Fred Trammel.

She was much loved and will be sadly missed.
