Osie King

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Osie King, 82, 339 N. McHenry St., Equality, passed away at her residence, at 9:48 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008.

She was born Feb. 8, 1926 in Maxie, Va., to Jonah and Phoebe Margaret O'Quinn. Osie married Charles E. King on April 24, 1948 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2003.

She was a registered nurse and was employed by Pearce Hospital and Egyptian Public and Mental Health Department In Eldorado. Osie had served on the Egyptian Public and Mental Health Department board of directors, assisted the Red Cross Blood Mobile, served on the Gallatin Co. Tuberculosis Board and assisted in heart, mental health and cancer Fund Drives. She was a member of Eldorado First Christian Church.

Osie is survived by a daughter, Margaret and Chuck Hult of Equality; two sons, David and Cathy King of Equality and John and Martha King of St. Louis, Mo.; her sister, Cosby O'Quinn, also of Equality; brother, Rufus O'Quinn of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Naomi, Roxie and Chloe; and two brothers, Roy and Hollan.

Visitation for Osie was 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2008 at the funeral home with Dennis Robison officiating. Burial was at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi.
