Lois (Tanner) Newbold
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lois (Tanner) Newbold, 79, of Creal Springs, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
She was born April 25, 1929, in Williamson County to Clarence and Myrtle (Deaton) Tanner. She married Carl W. Newbold on Dec 21, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., and he survives.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Creal Springs and also enjoyed going weekly to Kickin Kountry in Vienna where she made numerous friends.
She is survived by four children, Deborah (Rich) Rister of Harrisburg, Jeff Newbold of Herrin, Kim (Sharon) Newbold of Golconda and Bridget (Matthew) Short of Marion; eight grandchildren, Matt (Rachyl) Rister, Rachel (Dan) Chancellor, Nicole (Jeffery) Kohlmeyer, Taylor and Cameron Newbold, Chandler Short, Carson Short and Grayson Short; two great-grandchildren, Elaine Kohlmeyer and Isabel Rister; one sister, Shirley Robertson; and two brothers, Ronnie and Bill Tanner.
Two brothers preceded, Stevie and Don Tanner.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, at the Cosby-Sloan Funeral Home in Creal Springs. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at the funeral home. The Rev. Shorty Alsip officiating. Burial will be at the Newbold Cemetery, New Burnside.
