Harry Higdon
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Harry Higdon, 88, of Eldorado, passed away at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, at Fountainview Nursing Home.
He was the widower of Margaret J. (Dycus) Higdon.
Harry was born in Elkton, Ky., on Sept. 5, 1920, the son of the late Thomas Leroy and Flora (Shanklin) Higdon.
He was a member of the Eldorado Calvary Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a corporal in World War II. He retired from Canteen Services in Evansville, Ind.
Harry is survived by a son, Warren (Sharon) Higdon of Eldorado.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cindy Beaver and Myndi Higdon; two great-grandchildren, Whitney Beaver and Dylan Beaver, all of Eldorado; and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Harry is also survived by a sister, Mary Averitt of Elkton, Ky.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Higdon and J.W. Higdon.
Funeral services were held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Burial with military rites was in Wolf Creek Cemetery.
