Freeman Morse
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Freeman Morse, 89, longtime resident of Junction, passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home surrounded by his family.
Freeman was born in Pope County on March 28, 1919, to the late Huey and Sylvia (Stallings) Morse. On March 19, 1937, he married Lena (Lauderdale) who preceded him in death in 2000.
Freeman was known throughout the area for many years for raising and selling melons at his stand near Junction. He was a Baptist by faith. Freeman was a good husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by the community.
He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn and Larry Rogers of Shawneetown and Rhonda and Chuck Smith of Muddy; one son, Raymond and Tina Martin of Junction; one sister, Jean Wilson of Shawneetown; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Freeman will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown and the funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. Interment will be in the Westwood Cemetery near Shawneetown.
