Essie Sork

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mrs. Essie Sork, 71, of Eldorado, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at her residence.

She was the wife of the Rev. Buddy Sork.

Essie was born in Broughton on Sept. 18, 1937, the daughter of the late John Biggerstaff and Emma (Randall) Peer.

She worked as a nurse before retirement. Essie was the music leader at Eddyville Baptist Church, where her husband Buddy pastors. Previously she and Buddy pastored at Ledford Baptist Church.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

Essie is survived by two sons, Randall (Barbara) Sork of Eldorado, and Roy (Tracie) Sork of El Paso, Texas.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Kristin (Zachary) Parks of Eldorado, Roy Isaac Sork of Texas, and Rebecca Sork of Shawneetown; and three stepgrandchildren, Daniel French of Chicago, Kimberly Nations of Chicago and Ashlie Hoff of El Paso, Texas.

Essie is also survived by a brother, Ezra (Susie) Biggerstaff of Dixon.

She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Kandie Manning, Donna (Charlie) Corbin, Linda Sue (Herschel) Patton, Paul (Mary) Biggerstaff, Dwayne (Sue) Biggerstaff, Danny Biggerstaff, Tommy Sork, Alfred Bubby (Linda) Hendrix, Jason Sork, Greg Sork and Lyndal Sork.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elsie Hintze.

Funeral services were at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home, Eldorado, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, with the Rev. Jordan Bird officiating. Burial was in Jackson Cemetery in Ridgway. Friends called 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Children's Home and left at the funeral home.
