</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Laura Jo Simpson, 74, of Madisonville, Ky., died at 12:51 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home, Madisonville, Ky.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville with Gary Taylor officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Westwood Cemetery, Shawneetown. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at the funeral home and 9 a.m. to service time Thursday.

She is survived by a daughter, three granddaughters, a grandson, two great-grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
