Darol Lockeby

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Darol Wayne Lockeby, 57, of Galatia, died 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church in Jefferson County with the Rev. Garlin Burris officiating. Burial will be in Old Orchard Cemetery, Jefferson County. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Hughey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

He was born Wednesday, March 21, 1951, in Jefferson County to the late Ralph T. and Lulu Etta (Carter) Lockeby.

He is survived by a special companion, Julie George of Galatia; a daughter, Tamara Hays of Salem; a son and daughter, Dakota and Christina Mitchell (both raised in Darol's home); two adopted sons, Chris and Jeff; grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda and Matthew Hays, Aaron Robinson and Emily, Sarah and Jessica Lockeby; a brother, Larry (Bernadette) Lockeby of Glendale, Ariz.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, half-brothers and half-sisters also survive.

In addition to his parents, a son, Jason Lockeby; a daughter, Regina Lockeby; and his stepfather, Raymond Kelly preceded him in death.

Darol was an ASE Certified Auto Mechanic that worked for local dealerships; he was a retired truck driver and member of Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church. He loved fishing, carpentry and planting a garden.
