Ira Davis

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Mr. Ira Davis, 85, of Eldorado, passed away at 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Fountainview Nursing Home.

Ira was born in Union City, Tenn., on Feb. 26, 1923, the son of the late Louis C. and Allie Elizabeth (Palmer) Davis.

He was Baptist by faith. He worked as an auto mechanic before retirement.

Ira is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann (Charles) Curry of Eldorado; four sons, Robert (Vicki) Davis of Eldorado, Mike (Karen) Davis of Harrisburg, Paul (Sherry) Davis of Omaha and William (Sheri) Davis of Harrisburg. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Brian (Robyn) Davis of Herrin, Roger Davis of Chandler, Ind., Dan (Angi) Curry of Eldorado, Brad (Mandy) Curry of Dellwood, Laurel Deal of Eldorado, Susan Bierman of Eldorado, Tabetha Wooten of Carmi, Blane (Jackie Conkle) Davis of Harrisburg, Dayne Davis of Eldorado, Michael Stokich (Whitney Myatt) of Norris City, Jared Stokich of Harrisburg, Devin Davis of Harrisburg and Bobbie Davis of Eldorado; and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Davis and Hiram Davis; and one sister, Pauline Jackson.

Funeral services will be held at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, with the Rev. Charles Curry officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery in Omaha.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice and can be left at the funeral home.
