Fern E. Hester
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Fern E. Hester, 97 years old, of rural Sandoval, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at her home.
She was born April 30, 1914, in Centralia. She was the daughter of Charles and Lena (nee Hoffman) Troutt. She married Orvil M. Hester on Dec. 7, 1932, in Shattuc, and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1992.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Leroy (Nancy) Hester of rural Sandoval; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mata (Virgil) Motsinger of Harrisburg and Pat (Carl) Heinrich of Centralia; a brother, Dean Troutt and special friend, Ellie Sulser of Sandoval; grandchildren and spouses, Robin (Todd) Best of Vandalia, Pam (Jim) Mullen of Bloomington, Tony (Julie) Hester of Sandoval, Lee Ann (Randy) Pollmann of Bartelso, Mark (Susan) Motsinger, Michael (Melony) Motsinger and Amy (Garrick) Simpson, all of Harrisburg, Doug (Nadya) Heinrich of St. Charles, Mo., Bryan (Traci) Heinrich of O'Fallon, Mo. and Trish (Greg) Bass of Centralia; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lena; husband, Orvil on April 6, 1992; son, Bob Hintz; brother, Lester Troutt on Feb. 12, 2005; and grandson, Terry Hintz.
Fern grew up and lived her life in the rural Sandoval area. She worked at Dobbs Bargain Store in Centralia as a clerk for 10 years and Taylor Maid Restaurant in Sandoval for 12 years as a cook. She was a member of the Sandoval United Methodist Church and Senior Citizen Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, growing flowers and cooking.
Visitation will be conducted 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval and from 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, until time of the service. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, from the Day Funeral Home in Sandoval. The Rev. Clayton Coffey will officiate the funeral service and burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Sandoval United Methodist Church and accepted at the funeral home.
