1943-2008

Tom Burns, a long-time resident of Key West and more recently of Harrisburg, passed away on Aug. 8, 2008, after a brief battle with lymphoma. He was 65.

Tom was born in Chicago in 1943. He lived there until the late 1980s when he took his sailboat, Anthem, down the Mississippi River and to the Bahamas and onto Key West where he lived for 20 years. In 2006, Tom moved to Harrisburg to care for an aging aunt. He made many new friends there over stories of Key West.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Julia, her husband, Mike; and grandchildren Isaac, Maya and Elias, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; and by his aunt, Dorothy Clark, of Harrisburg.

Tom will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the Gulf Stream. Instead of a memorial, raise your glasses in a toast to celebrate his life. Tom will be missed by many.
