</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Elsie L. Stricklin, 86, of Harrisburg, died 6:06 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. Visitation is 9 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1921, in Harrisburg to Elmer and Martha (Duncan) Martin. On Dec. 22, 1940, she married Robert W. Stricklin, who preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1985.

She was a homemaker and a member of Gaskins City Missionary Baptist Church in Harrisburg.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Merritt of Cincinnati, Ohio and Shirley Kielhorn of Harrisburg; a granddaughter, Diana (Jeff) Roper of Harrisburg; a grandson, Stacy Kielhorn of Harrisburg; a granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Kielhorn of Georgia; two great-grandsons, Reid Roper and Ryne Roper, both of Harrisburg; a great-granddaughter, Julia Kielhorn of Georgia; and a sister, Fern Horton of Harrisburg.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Herman Martin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gaskins City Missionary Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at Gaskins-Jones Funeral Home.
