Cynthia A. Dutton
</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Cynthia A. Dutton, 56, of Goreville, died Aug. 2, 2008, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1951, in Harrisburg to the late Hazel (Stokich) Parkinson of Harrisburg. On Dec. 8, 1969, she married Jim Dutton of Harrisburg, who survives.
In addition, she is survived by two daughters, Stephany (Shannon) Dutton-Moss and Tephany Dutton of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Kizer and M'lea Moss; sister, Tresa (John) Armstrong of Norris City; one niece, Trena (Louie) Magers of Morris; three uncles, Shorty (Sue) Stokich, Orval Stokich and Bill (Donna) Stokich; and an aunt, Peggy Pickering, all of Harrisburg; cousins, Sheri (William) Davis, Glen (Cindy) Stokich, Marty (Holly) Stokich, John (Holly) Stokich, Patty (Phillip) Seely, Jim Stokich, Pam Quinn, Karen (Bob) Armstrong; several great-cousins; and very special friends, Kathy King and Norma Laib.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Jim Stokich; aunt, Mary Ann Martin; cousin, Janie Stokich; and maternal grandparents, Carl and Eunice Stokich.
She graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1967 and graduated with a master's degree in higher education administration from SIU and was working toward her Ph.D. She was a member of the Omicron Tau Theta Honor Society, Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Gamma Nu Society and the Coalition of Citizens with Disabilities in Illinois.
She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and attending family functions.
Visitation will be held at Reed Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, with funeral services at 8 p.m. The Rev. Don Ewell will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008, at Liberty Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should gather at the cemetery.
