Lela May Tolbert

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Lela May Tolbert, 74, of Harrisburg, passed away 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, at her residence.

She was born July 21, 1934, in Eldorado, the daughter of Leland and Geneva Feuquay Pinnell and stepdaughter of Alice Richerson Pinnell Cherpital. She married Bob Tolbert on Nov. 6, 1951, in Harrisburg. He survives.

She was a member of the Sloan Street Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse for 32 years, working at the former Doctors Hospital and was director of nursing at Harrisburg Manor Nursing Home.

Surviving are her husband, Bob of Harrisburg; stepmother, Alice Cherpital of Fairfield; four sons, Robert Tolbert of Raleigh, Daniel K. Tolbert of Thompsonville, Michael G. Tolbert of Harrisburg and Allen L. Tolbert of Harrisburg; one daughter, Deborah L. (Robert) Yoreck of Clarksville, Tenn.; two brothers, Richard Pinnell of Springfield and Jerry Pinnell of Wayne City; 13 grandchildren, Robert Yoreck III, Jason Yoreck, Nicholas Yoreck, Rebecca Stacy, Stephen Tolbert, Richard Tolbert, Amanda Jackson, Daniel Tolbert, Melinda Peek, NaCole Haney, Pauline Beal, Jenniffer Holems and Crystal Asher; and 15 great-grandchildren, Madison Yoreck, Jeremiah Stacy, Savannah Kelly, Kileigh Burney, Amanda Jackson, Samantha Peek, Ethan Tolbert, Alex A. Peek, Alea Tolbert, Dylan Peek, Blake Tolbert, Christian Beal, Haven Rovito, Jade Standley and Blade Standley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Bonnie P. Holmes; and a great-granddaughter, Hannah Peek.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Leroy Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at the J.M. Weirauch Funeral Home.
